TBS Goes to Washington December 2026

TBS returns to Washington, DC for our third educator tour on Wednesday, December 2nd-Friday, December 4th. Join Teaching Beyond the Square’s Jane Racoosin, Founder and Yeshnaya Dougherty, Senior Educational Director, for a fun-filled and informative 2 1/2 days! The trip includes an option for a self-guided tour of the Renwick Gallery where the exhibit Handwork: Contemporary Craft at the Renwick Gallery will just be opening or a school visit on day 2, overnight stay at The Poppy Georgetown where our group will have the entire Brownstone to ourselves, and participation in the St. John’s preschool conference: The Power and Potential of Daily Life.

Day 1:
4:00 PM-6:00 PM - Check into The Poppy
6:00-8:00 PM - Catered Dinner from Founding Farmers at The Poppy
Discussion and dessert to follow dinner 

Day 2:
8:00-9:30 AM breakfast at The Poppy

10:00-12:00 PM Renwick Gallery Self-Guided Tour/ or School Visit (TBD)

12:00-4:00 PM lunch on your own/free time

4:00-5:30 PM small group discussions

6:00 PM-8:00 PM Reception at St. John’s Preschool

Day 3
9:00 AM-4:00 PM St. John’s Preschool The Power and Potential of Daily Life: Designing and Giving Visibility to Learning Processes of Children and Adults. Educational Research Projects in Relationship with the Hundred Languages. Breakfast & lunch are included. 

***Limited to 13 educators. $1500 includes lodging, fees, and meals(except for lunch Thursday). Travel to DC is not included. (Trains and buses leave regularly from NYC to DC.)

Cancellation Policy:
Teaching Beyond the Square cannot provide refunds or replacements for cancellations including weather related cancellations.
However, if the registrant can find their own replacement to cover their costs, that will be accepted.
