The Materials Trailer is not being scheduled for the fall while we take time to find a driver and parking.

The Materials Trailer in Action!

Our Materials Trailer can be scheduled for a visit to your school. Small groups of children (ages 4 and up) participate in a brief guided tour of the trailer.

Afterward, each child and teacher selects five items to be permanently added to their classroom’s collection of loose parts.

Materials Educators then join teachers and children back in their rooms.

  • Collected items from the trailer are spread out on a fabric circle we provide.

  • Children gather around for a brief discussion.

  • Children are invited to experiment, collaborate, and play with their new materials.

  • Materials can be used over and over again at school, giving children an opportunity to understand their potential and give them a good, long life!

Our visit is a minimum of four hours.  Each classroom experience is one hour long, which includes transition time to and from the trailer. Class size affects how many classrooms we can accommodate.

Trailer visit pricing will be available by spring 2027.

Please note: We need 45 available feet to park the trailer!

Though this experience has many artful aspects, it is not an “art activity,” nor should children expect to bring materials home.  It’s an opportunity to engage in building, visual arrangement, experimentation in physics and engineering, and creation without adhesives.

** Note: If you would like to learn more about using loose parts and found materials in your school or classroom before scheduling a trailer visit, schedule a Materialized Classroom visit
