Thank you all for being a part of the conversation about this rich and important type of play. I have attached a few things here for your consideration.
An article, Living with He-Man, highlights the play and offers strategies and ways to think about the play. It can be a great resource to share with parents as well as you are discussing this type of play with them.
I hope that you had a chance to do the exercise in which you could categorize the different characteristics differentiating between Rough and Tumble Play, Real Fighting, and Bullying. If you haven't yet. Please feel free to click on this link first. Then check out the attached form "similarities and differences"
The final article that I would like to send is from a wonderful organization, Raising Race Conscious Children. It gives a perspective that is a thoughtful one, geared towards some boundaries around this type of play. I offer it as an important food for thought.
